Maggie Flynn

Maggie runs an asylum for Negro children orphaned by the Civil War. She is fond of a Union office and nearly weds him, when from out of the past wanders her vagabond husband who left her to play Hamlet and returns as a circus clown

The Confederate insurgents stage the riots and sneak guns into the area for further violence. But in a rip roaring finale they are quelled and true love finds its way to the heart
