Synopsis
Nutter - An Anti-Bullying Play for Young People
Published by London Bus Theatre Company
4 Male 3 Female
An anti-bullying play suitable for Key Stages 3 and 4
Charlton and Amber turn up at Charlie's house uninvited
Bullying and peer pressure leads to antisocial behaviour and all three of them being dragged through the Criminal Justice System
The real power of the play is showing that it's not only the victims of peer pressure who suffer but also the perpetrators in gangs
All three characters eventually turn their lives around
And when a practical solution to bullying is revealed at the end of the play, we see why so many schools are now endorsing Nutter as a real chance to address this problem.
Nutter is a mix of verbatim drama, forum theatre, monologue, tableaux and improvisation
The police scenes are transcriptions from actual cases
The interaction with the audience covers racism, sexism, truancy, vandalism, alcohol and the causes of bullying
Gender is (mostly) flexible
Runs about 60 minutes
