Trick or Treat

Although they've run out of money, that's the least of their worries
Hidden below the house is something left over from Puritan days
It's a menacing, walking, talking - SCARECROW MAN!
His name is Endecott and over the centuries, he's managed to frighten away all comers
However, these Putnams refuse to budge
Halloween night is their open house and the scarecrow has set a midnight deadline
Neighbors and guests turn out to be a loony bunch - everything from a "good witch" who tries to hex away the scarecrow to a local derelict who converses with an invisible Nathaniel Hawthorne
When a dangerous killer escapes from the nearby correctional institution and passes himself off as a "Rent-a-Guest," this tongue-in-cheek comedy really takes off
Mistaken identities, loopy dialogue, slamming doors, outrageous humor make for great fun and a great evening of theatre
What will win the battle? Flesh or straw?
From the play's original director, "Loaded with cartoon shtick that tickles the funny bone."
Spoof for all seasons, it's a natural for Halloween time
